Title: Defensive driving, what makes an answer "too aggressive" on the FTT?
FTT questions often give you multiple technically-legal responses to a scenario, and the "correct" one is usually the most defensive, not the most assertive.

A driver behind you is tailgating aggressively, what is the recommended response?
The recommended response is to gradually slow down and increase the gap ahead of you, giving the tailgater more room to react, rather than braking suddenly or speeding up to "lose" them. FTT rewards de-escalation, and answers that involve confronting or reacting emotionally to another driver are almost always wrong on this test.
