Getting a Class 3 or 3A licence in Singapore is not one payment. It is a string of fees spread across enrolment, theory, lessons, simulator sessions, and tests, usually stretched over 6 to 12 months. Here is every line item, using current 2026 rates.
Official Fixed Fees (Set by Traffic Police)

You still book and sit your BTT, FTT, and practical test at one of the three official centres either way, since private instructors are not themselves testing venues. The trade off is structure: schools offer a fixed curriculum, bundled simulator access, and school specific training modules that private routes do not include.

A practical retest at a school runs roughly $319 to $353, while a private retest can run closer to $556, mainly due to vehicle rental and warm up session costs that schools bundle more cheaply.
